Community Engagement
Community Engagement: campaigns are important year-round, but specifically in the fall months, clubs are encouraged to promote the organization and recruit new members. These are also great ways to raise money for the club.
Ideas include:
- Open game night
- Working a local festival
- Junior Civitan week
- Host a school-wide dodgeball tournament to raise money for the Civitan International Research Center
- Hold a dance for your school’s special needs department
- Car washes or home window wash
- Doughnut sales or Bake sales
- Pancake supper (before ball games)
- Fire extinguisher sales
- Concession stands at sports events
- Sell bird seed during winter season. Sell pecans during the holiday season.
- Sponsor or participate in a school carnival such as dunking machines featuring Junior Civitans and faculty members, sponge throw, pie throw, tricycle races, water balloon throw, etc.
- Sponsor a student-faculty basketball game
- Sell a box of candy bars
- Have a haunted house on Halloween
- Raffle a donated prize
- Paint faces at sporting events or carnivals
Does your club have a Community Engagement or Membership Recruitment project you think other Junior Civitan clubs would be able to carry out? Submit your club project for a chance to be featured on the Junior Civitan website.
